The one-hour tour around Hanoi operates on three double-decker buses that begin and conclude their journey on the left side of the Hanoi Opera House. The route takes passengers through iconic old streets, including Trang Tien, Dinh Tien Hoang, and Le Thai To, offering a glimpse into the city’s rich history and architecture.

Exploring Hanoi by double-decker bus is an unforgettable experience, made even more captivating by the open-top design that provides unobstructed views of the city’s famous destinations and landmarks surrounding Hoan Kiem Lake.

Previously, the Hanoi Transport Corporation, in collaboration with the Hanoi Department of Tourism, offered free bus trips for attendees wearing Ao Dai during the Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival from October 4 to 6. This initiative, launched in 2018, has become a beloved feature of the festival, attracting locals and tourists alike.

Typically, a double-decker bus ticket costs VND200,000 (US$8.5) for a two-hour tour and VND650,000 ($28) for a 48-hour pass, making it an affordable option for those looking to sightsee at their own pace.

Additionally, the Hanoi Department of Transportation has organized dedicated bus routes from the city’s gateways to prominent tourist attractions such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature, and Vietnam Military Museum, ensuring convenient and direct access to these must-see destinations.
