This year’s event carries two powerful messages: “Entering the Era of National Growth with Books” and “Reading – Enriching Knowledge, Nurturing Aspirations, Fostering Innovation and Creativity.” These messages emphasize the pivotal role of books in shaping an informed and thriving society, where reading is not just a pastime but a catalyst for individual development and collective progress.

The Books and Reading Culture Week 2025 coincides with significant holidays and political agendas in the country, shedding light on the enduring value of books in cultural preservation, knowledge development, and creativity. A plethora of activities will be on offer, including book launches, storytelling sessions, art exhibitions inspired by literature, and thought-provoking discussions on reading culture.

Readers flock to Hanoi Book Street in Hai Ba Trung District to partake in the annual Reading Culture Day celebrations.

In a unique twist, the event will integrate digital platforms like Zoom and Google Meet for book discussions, connecting virtual communities and enabling them to share their love of literature. This blend of traditional reading habits with modern technology bridges the gap between the analog and digital worlds, making books more accessible to a diverse audience.

Recognizing the contributions of individuals and organizations to Vietnam’s reading culture, the event will honor book creators, publishers, librarians, and others dedicated to preserving and promoting books. Local communities will be encouraged to engage in book exchanges, discussions, and creative workshops, fostering a sense of collective appreciation for literature.

Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 reinforces the belief that books are a powerful tool for personal and national growth. By promoting a culture of reading, the event aspires to ignite the flames of knowledge, creativity, and critical thinking in future generations, thereby supporting the country’s development in a world of constant change.
