This event, a pinnacle among a series of distinctive cultural celebrations, honors the rich history and cultural heritage of Hanoi.

The preparations included a solemn ceremony of incense offering at the statue of King Ly Thai To, paying homage to the ancestors who played a pivotal role in the liberation and development of the capital.

Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, and Vu Thu Ha, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, supervised the rehearsal, ensuring its smooth execution.

The program is meticulously crafted into three distinct segments: ‘Memories of Hanoi’, ‘The Flow of Heritage’, and ‘Hanoi: City for Peace, City of Creativity’. Each part will take the audience on a journey through time, celebrating the city’s past, present, and future.

The main stage set design is a masterpiece in itself, vividly portraying the 60 days and nights of valiant fighting within Hanoi. This heroic episode marked the commencement of the nation’s resistance against French colonial rule, an epic struggle for independence.

A thousand soldiers, along with 200 artists and dancers, brought to life the momentous occasion of the troops’ march into Hanoi on October 10, 1954. This large-scale performance symbolized the end of colonial rule as the People’s Army assumed control of the capital.

Following this powerful display was a special flag-raising ceremony, a reenactment of the first flag-raising event in Hanoi after its liberation. This ceremony served as a reminder of the city’s proud history and its journey towards freedom and self-rule.

The event, “Cultural Festival for Peace,” created a unique cultural ambiance, blending Hanoi’s glorious past with its present aspirations. It showcased the city’s dedication to preserving its cultural heritage while embracing modernization and global integration.
