Ho Chi Minh City kick-starts Covid-19 vaccination for students

Ho Chi Minh City began its Covid-19 vaccination program for students aged 16-17 years old on October 27, becoming the first locality in the country to officially vaccinate children.

At a vaccination point placed in Cu Chi Town Primary School, 1,500 children aged 16 and 17 years old, who are students of three schools in Cu Chi district, received the first dose of Pfizer vaccine.

The Ministry of Health has recently given green light for the use of the vaccine on children in an effort to help bring back students to schools.

The city is expected to vaccinate about 780,000 children aged 12-17 years old./.
