The Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia took part in showcasing Vietnamese culture and cuisine at the 2023 edition of the annual International Charity Fair in Ulaanbaatar on September 16th.

The fair is an important annual event organized by the International Women’s Diplomats Club (WDC) under Mongolia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the Embassies and Consulates General in the host country, and small and medium enterprises of Mongolia.

The fair is held annually in mid-September to raise funds for underprivileged children in Mongolia, including those who are orphaned, disabled, or living in facilities, fostering, and social protection centers.

In addition, the fair serves as an opportunity for cultural and culinary exchange, fostering solidarity and promoting the diverse countries and people represented by their respective agencies in Mongolia.

Attending this year’s international charity event were the embassies of 11 countries, including Australia, USA, Belarus, Vietnam, Italy, the Republic of Korea, Laos, Russia, China, India, Japan, and more than 30 businesses from around the world, representing companies led by women.

The organizers announced that the “Charity Fair” event, held by the WDC since its establishment in 1998, has successfully completed its 23rd edition. This event, which had to be temporarily suspended for two years due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, has been instrumental in implementing over 100 projects aimed at providing support to vulnerable groups through generous donations.

The Vietnamese Embassy has once again showcased their unique and traditional handicraft products at the fair this year. These exquisite items are crafted by skilled Vietnamese artisans and include bamboo curtains, lacquered coconut bowls, brocade bags, and silk scarves.

The Embassy has delighted its guests with a selection of delectable dishes that have consistently garnered praise from both the Mongolian community and international friends in the country. These include fried spring rolls, sausage rolls, chung cake prepared by Vietnamese expatriates, and an assortment of Vietnamese coffees that are highly sought-after in the Mongolian market.

The dance performance of students at High School No. 14, named after President Ho Chi Minh, at the opening session of the program received high praise from the guests.
