Cook, 60, is an English DJ, musician, and producer better known as Fatboy Slim. He adopted this moniker in the 1990s as he developed his electronic solo act and the big beat genre. The big beat genre is known for its synthesizer-generated loops and patterns.
In the 1980s, he started as a bassist in the indie rock band The Housemartins. Later on, he achieved success as a solo electronic act, winning 10 MTV Video Music Awards and two Brit Awards.
With a successful career spanning decades, Fatboy Slim has not only influenced the electronic music landscape but has also etched his name in the prestigious Guinness World Records. This includes most UK Top 40 singles by a musician as a member of different acts, most MTV Video Music Awards won by a DJ, most wins for a single video by a DJ at the MTV Video Music Awards with six victories for ‘Weapon Of Choice,’ and the first solo recipient of the Best British Dance Act at the BRIT Awards in 1999.
