The Hanoi New Year concert will showcase the extraordinary talent of renowned Italian soprano, Angela Nisi. Her remarkable performance will include captivating excerpts from Giacomo Puccini’s opera, such as O mio babbino caro, Nessun dorma, and Sì, mi chiamano Mimì.
This upcoming event marks Angela Nisi’s second visit to Vietnam, following her highly successful performance at the Hanoi Opera House in 2019. As the winner of prestigious international competitions, including the F. Provenzale Baroque Singing Competition in Naples (2006) and the Ottavio Ziino Competition in Rome (2012), Angela Nisi commenced her career as a lyric soprano in 2010. Throughout her exceptional journey, she has demonstrated unparalleled dedication to a diverse repertoire, encompassing opera, symphony, and chamber music.
Angela Nisi has graced highly acclaimed opera houses and concert institutions worldwide, such as the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Teatro Regio in Turin, Hungarian State Opera in Budapest, and Teatro in Sao Paulo Brazil. She has had the privilege of collaborating with esteemed conductors, including Daniel Oren, Antonio Pappano, and Donato Renzetti.
The Hanoi New Year concert, presented by Hanoi Television, promises to be an awe-inspiring classical music event, bringing international masterpieces to local audiences. The repertoire features notable compositions such as “Hungarian” by Johannes Brahms and “Waves of Danube” by Iosif Ivanovici.
Conducted by the distinguished Japanese maestro Honna Tetsuji, who has held the position of Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) since 2009, this concert is destined to enchant the audience.
The Hanoi Opera House will host this grand event at 8 p.m. on January 1, with live broadcasting on Hanoi Television 1.
Ha Long Carnival opens in Quang Ninh
The Ha Long Carnival, a highlight of the Ha Long – Quang Ninh tourism week 2019, opened in Bai Chay and Hon Gai tourism area in the northern province of Quang Ninh on April 28.
