Over 20 students from the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City have collaborated with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Phu Yen Province on a unique project. Using their artistic talents and simple tools, they transformed the walls along Le Duan Street in Tuy Hoa City into works of art.

The students creatively depicted renowned destinations in the province, such as Ganh Da Dia (Reef of Plates), Nghinh Phong Tower, Ganh Den Lighthouse, Mui Dien (Dien Cape), and Nhan Tower. Their paintings not only showcase the beauty of these locations but also highlight the culture and people of Phu Yen Province in south-central Vietnam.

Tran Triet Vi, a sophomore at the University of Architecture, shared his experience, saying he joined the university’s Mua He Xanh (Green Summer) volunteer campaign in Tuy Hoa in late July. The students dedicated their afternoons, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, to bringing their artistic visions to life on the walls.

Vi explained their process: “We started by painting the walls with a white base layer, then used acrylic colors to create the vibrant images. Finally, we applied a glossy paint layer to protect the artwork, ensuring its longevity.” The care and attention they put into each painting are evident.

Dong Thi Thuy Vy, a fourth-year student, elaborated on their creative process, mentioning that they brainstormed ideas and sent their proposals to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union chapter in Phu Yen for approval. This collaborative effort ensured that the final paintings resonated with the local community.

Le Hoai Phuc, a 35-year-old local resident of Tuy Hoa, expressed her excitement about the new artwork. She admired how beautifully the popular destinations in her homeland were portrayed, believing that these walls could become a new highlight of the city, attracting both locals and tourists alike.

Vo Duy Kha, deputy secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in Phu Yen Province, commended the students’ efforts, stating, “Their creative and practical activity has effectively promoted tourism in Tuy Hoa City and the entire province.”
