A Journey Through Time

Revolution Express proudly presents two meticulously restored steam locomotives from the 1960s, ready to whisk passengers away on a journey like no other. These locomotives will be coupled with two retro-style carriages, accommodating up to 57 passengers each, along with a custom-built kitchen and baggage car.

As the last remaining operational pre-independence steam engines in Vietnam, these locomotives are a testament to the country’s rich railway history. Built locally following the French Mikado design, their restoration has been a labor of love, utilizing original parts and the expertise of Vietnam Railways’ veteran steam engineers.

Once the train commences its journey, passengers will be immersed in the central region’s beauty, discovering the allure of Danang’s beaches and the enigmatic tombs and palaces of Hue, the former imperial capital.

“Our team is excited to announce that the trains are nearing completion, with the inaugural trips planned for late 2024 or early 2025,” shared Wafaifo Optimisers in a press release.

Although tickets for this luxurious journey are not yet available, further booking details will be released in the coming months.

Gebbie further added, “Whether our guests are history enthusiasts, railway aficionados, or simply seeking a unique travel experience, the Revolution Express promises a magical journey through time and Vietnam’s stunning landscapes.”

Exceptional Onboard Experience

Wafaifo Optimizers has spared no effort in ensuring that the renovated train provides an unparalleled riding experience. Passengers will be immersed in vibrant natural scenery, complemented by modern amenities and exceptional food and beverage service.

Onboard, travelers will step into a world of old-world opulence, with staff attired in period costumes. As they savor light refreshments, they will be captivated by the breathtaking coastline and mountain passes of Southeast Asia.

Additionally, the journey will feature different themed meals at three distinct stops: Kim Lien in Danang, Lang Co Beach, and the Hue Imperial Citadel in Thua Thien Hue Province, allowing passengers to indulge in the local cuisine and culture.

In Hue, the former train maintenance depot has been transformed into the elegant Station Restaurant, reflecting the imperial grandeur of the city. Meanwhile, in Lang Co, the on-board restaurant will delight passengers with a selection of homemade treats, including ice cream, fresh fruit juices, Vietnamese coffee, and sugarcane juice.

A third restaurant, with a colonial theme, is planned for the station on the outskirts of Danang, offering a unique dining experience.

Adding to the grandeur, a brass band in full military regalia will greet passengers as they disembark at each station, creating an unforgettable ambiance.
