In 2023, the world and the region experienced rapid and complex changes as a result of strategic competition among major countries and non-traditional security challenges such as cybersecurity, migration, climate change, terrorism, and pandemic. Additionally, the slow recovery of the global economy, combined with changes in policies and resources of countries with aid policies, has created problems and obstacles for all governments, international organizations, and even foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Despite the difficulties, the value of aid disbursed to Vietnam by foreign NGOs in 2023 reached USD 228.6 million, an increase of USD 4.9 million compared to the same period in 2022 (aid value reached USD 223.7 million in 2022). The aid focused on areas and localities in Vietnam that are in need.

To contribute to these achievements, the Committee has always proactively developed plans that are realistic and provided proactive support to foreign NGOs. The Committee has also created maximum convenience for NGOs while ensuring compliance with legal regulations and given technical advice and suggestions for the activities of foreign NGOs. The active involvement, support, and cooperation from the Committee have been highly appreciated by agencies, ministries, branches, localities, and foreign NGOs, laying a solid foundation for the Committee to overcome difficulties and challenges and effectively carry out foreign NGO work in 2024.
