The Art of Ha Dong’s History and Traditions: A Creative Exploration
The program draws its inspiration from the historic Ha Dong District, a place steeped in the rich cultural heritage of Northern Vietnam's Delta region.
The legendary People’s Artist Le Chuc, renowned for her “golden voice,” captivated the audience at the Ha Dong commemorative event, Ha Dong, the Sacred Land Rising Up to Flourish. Accompanied by celebrated singers Trong Tan, Thu Thuy, Tan Hung, and Meritorious Artist Ngoc Bich, they honored the district’s rich history and cultural heritage.
This artistic program, held on December 5, celebrated the 120th anniversary of Ha Dong District, showcasing its journey since its establishment in 1904. Structured into three chapters, the event illuminated the district’s historical significance, cultural traditions, and the vibrant craft villages that have flourished within its boundaries.
Author and director Le The Song drew inspiration from the district’s deep-rooted history, talented residents, and unique cultural identity of the Northern Delta, infusing the program with a sense of pride and community.
“The people of Ha Dong District have endured challenging times, including periods of war and hardship,” Song remarked. “Their resilience and unity shine through as they build a new and beautiful future, contributing to the capital’s development.”
The performance blended contemporary dance and melodic tributes to the land and people of Ha Dong, with a special nod to the vibrant city of Hanoi. The narrative, delivered by People’s Artist Le Chuc, emphasized the district’s significance with a warm and emotional tone.
Le Chuc shared her belief that artists have a duty to contribute their creativity and responsibility to the public and society. The program, dedicated to Ha Dong, utilized a diverse range of cultural art forms, including theater, music, dance, and visual arts, to engage the audience in the district’s rich tapestry of stories.
