The national football team is set to arrive in Hanoi this afternoon, with their flight touching down at 2:30 pm. A warm welcome awaits coach Kim Sang Sik and his triumphant boys, with representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Sports Authority of Vietnam, and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) greeting them at the airport.

The team will then be escorted into the city center on double-decker buses, a fitting celebration for their achievements. Unfortunately, naturalized forward Nguyen Xuan Son, who suffered a broken leg in the previous game, will be taken directly to the hospital for surgery.

The day’s festivities will culminate in a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at 6:00 pm, where VFF chairman Tran Quoc Tuan or VFF vice-chairman Tran Anh Tu will present a report on the team’s journey to success. Coach Kim will also share his thoughts and emotions following their impressive campaign.

Prime Minister Chinh will announce awards and recognition for the team’s outstanding performance, capping off a historic day for Vietnamese football. Vietnam’s victory over Thailand in the 2024 ASEAN Championship has captured the hearts of fans nationwide, with FIFA also offering their congratulations on their official Facebook page.
