On the evening of September 9, in Nha Trang, the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, in collaboration with the Vietnam Cinema Association, held the 2023 Kite Awards Ceremony. This prestigious event, now in its 20th edition, recognizes excellence in the film industry.
A highlight of the ceremony was the inauguration of the “Wall of Fame,” the first initiative in Vietnam to celebrate and honor individuals and groups who have made significant contributions to the film industry. The Wall of Fame was unveiled at the Do Theatre.

The Wall of Fame features 433 stars, representing 107 significant works, 297 outstanding individuals including authors, artists, filmmakers, and 29 esteemed cinematographers of Vietnamese cinema. Esteemed directors such as Pham Van Khoa, Mai Loc, Khuong Me, Nguyen Hong Sen, and others are among those honored.
Dinh Van Thieu, Vice Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized that the Wall of Fame is a pioneering cultural project in Vietnam that aims to recognize and celebrate the remarkable contributions of artists, actors, and actresses.
“Nha Trang, Do Theatre, and the Wall of Fame are poised to become significant tourist attractions for both domestic and international visitors. They are also expected to serve as a hub for artists, actors, and filmmakers,” said Thieu.

Do Lenh Hung Tu, Chairman of the Vietnam Cinema Association, expressed that the Wall of Fame, the first of its kind in the friendly and welcoming city of Nha Trang, is set to become a film city in the future.
During the event, the Vietnam Records Organization presented a certificate to acknowledge the Wall of Fame as a record-setting achievement.
According to the organizers, the Kite 2023 event received over 140 film submissions on the theme “Brilliant Galaxy.” The awards ceremony brought together nearly 1,000 delegates, filmmakers, artists, and actors.

Diving for Pearl Oysters on Tam Islet
Tam Islet is one of the four most beautiful islets in Nha Trang with a diverse maritime eco-system. The islet is an ideal place for swimming and diving to behold colourful coral reefs and see pearl oysters which are raised in the sea. Recently, the Provincial People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa instructed the Giang Gia Pearl Company and the Hon Tam Tourists Area to organize dive tours for pearl oysters.
