French Defence Minister Florence Parly met with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Friday, demonstrating a strong alignment of views on major regional security issues. The meeting also highlighted a shared commitment to closely coordinate efforts on counterterrorism and the situation in Afghanistan, as stated by Emmanuel Lenain, Ambassador of France in India.
“Minister @florence_parly’s meeting with NSA Ajit Doval showed great convergence of views on major regional security issues and a shared commitment to closely coordinate on counterterrorism and the situation in Afghanistan,” Emmanuel Lenain said in a tweet. Parly is currently on a two-day visit to India.
Earlier in the day, she met with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and participated in the third Annual Defence Dialogue between India and France. The ministers reviewed the existing military-to-military cooperation, which has continued to thrive despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. They also discussed opportunities to further enhance defense cooperation across all domains.
Parly also had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during which they discussed global challenges and sought India’s partnership in building a multi-polar order and upholding the rule of law in the international system. (ANI)
