7 Miniature Ancient World Wonders make debut in Hau Giang, southern Vietnam

You don’t have to travel across the world to see the new wonders, because the Ancient World Wonders Light Park: The Miracle in the southern province of Hau Giang can provide visitors perfect miniatures versions of popular attractions of from the ancient time in Egypt, Greece, Iraq to Turkey, etc.

The Ancient World Wonders Light Park: The Miracle is located in Ward 5, Vi Thanh City, Hau Giang Province. Lying at the heart of the place is a fountain, which is enveloped by imitations of ancient wonders such as the Statue of Zeus in Olympia (Greece), Great Pyramid of Giza (Egypt), Sun Statue Rhodes (Greece), Mausoleum Mausoleum (Turkey), Alexandria Lighthouse (Egypt), Hanging Gardens of Babylon (Iraq), Temple of Artemis (Turkey).

All the miniatures are made of plaster and concrete, and it took the constructors four months to done building and decorating the destination.

The Ancient World Wonders Light Park: The Miracle is still under completion and currently opens free for visitors. The park also offers musical programs at night with beautiful sound and lights.

The Great Pyramid of Giza (Egypt) also known as the Pyramid of Kheops, is the only wonder among the 7 ancient wonders in the world that still exists today. The Pyramid dated back to some 4,500 years ago.

The building is entirely man-made and took 20 years to complete. Its miniature version in Hau Giang is added with a Sphinx on.

Huyen Suong drove some 40km on her motorbike to Vi Thanh city to visit the ancient wonder park. “I dressed myself up to take the best check-in photos in here”, she told VNE.

Nhu Y (second from right) taking photos with her relatives next to the miniature statue of the Colossus of Rhodes (Greece). The original statue is 34m tall, sculpted with bronze and iron pillars, erected from 280 BC at the port of Mandraki, Rhodes Island and shaped like a stylized gate. The Colossus of Rhodes, however, collapsed in an earthquake 56 years after its inauguration. Local people didn’t dare to re-erect the statue for fear of offending the Sun God.

“As a local people, I’m very proud and happy when the city launches such a unique and attractive tourist site, which is a considerable advancement. It’s very bustling here, you know, there are people laughing, chit-chatting, and taking pictures everywhere I go”, Nhu Y said. “This is my first visit here, therefore I could not name all of the wonders. I’ll start learning about those world wonders when I go home for sure”, she added.

The original Lighthouse of Alexandria has been lying in the city of Alexandria, Egypt for some 1,500 years. The lighthouse is hailed the standard for all subsequent lighthouses with the three levels: The square lower part has a central core, the middle part is octagonal and has a circle top. The construction had gone through several repairs due to earthquake damages. In 1303, the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria completely collapsed and disappeared.

The original version of the Artemis Temple is the temple of Artemis goddess built in marble in Ephesus (Turkey), which is 114m long and 55m wide. The temple made its name with its 127 white marble pillars, each weighs nearly 100 tons. After many times being demolished and get burnt, the Artemis Temple now only has the basement and a few other parts remain.

The Zeus is considered the king of Greek gods. The original statue of Zeus at the Olympic was made of wood, ivory and metal, but was burned down during a fire in Constantinople (Istanbul) in 462 BC and did not have a replica. What people know about this statue is through the description in ancient records and drawings on ancient coins.
