On May 28, the grand final of Miss Sake Vietnam was held at the Mikazuki Japanese Da Nang Hotel in Da Nang, during which the three local representatives for Miss Sake International 2023 were announced.

Pham Thien Nga, 24, from Hanoi, was crowned Miss Sake Vietnam 2023 after outshining 17 other finalists. Ha Thi Cam Le and Luu An Phuong were respectively awarded the first and second runner-up titles.

A total of 17 finalists competed in the Japanese kimono and Vietnamese Ao Dai (traditional long dress) segments on May 28.

The last night of the event included both talent showcases and presentations by the finalists.

This is the first time that Miss Sake has been held in the country for single women aged between 18 and 40.

The purpose of the event is to celebrate the full beauty of Vietnamese women, select an inspiring face to represent the nation at international pageants, and to strengthen existing ties between the country and Japan.

This year’s Miss Sake Vietnam 2023 aims to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the original establishment of diplomatic relations between the two sides, which took place in 1973. The preliminary round of the competition was held in April and May, with 17 contestants selected to move onto the final round.

Each year, the Miss Sake competition seeks representatives to promote Japanese history and culture through sake. This event is currently in its 10th year, taking place in Japan and other countries.
