The Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) created by designer Nguyen Le Vinh Tuong showcases the national pride and solidarity of the Vietnamese people. It features a dragon motif on a vibrant red fabric, symbolizing the resilience of Vietnamese women.
The Vietnamese representative’s national costume performance at local and international beauty pageant forums has received overwhelming positive feedback from the fan community.
Recently, the organizers of Miss Grand International 2023 announced the Top 20 contestants for the best national costume sub-contest. The selection includes the Top 10 chosen by judges and the Top 10 voted by fans on social media.
During the semi-final night held on October 22 in Ho Chi Minh City, Le Hoang Phuong was named among the Top 10 contestants in the Swimsuit segment.
Phuong is currently one of the frontrunners in the Popular Vote segment, which is being conducted on the MGI fan page. This gives her the opportunity to secure a spot in the Top 10 finalists.
Standing at 1.76 meters tall with body measurements of 88-63-99, Phuong is not only a model but also an architect. She has previous experience in beauty pageants, having achieved a Top 5 finish at Miss Universe Vietnam 2022.
A total of 69 contestants from around the world arrived in Vietnam on October 3 and have since participated in various activities in Hanoi, Ha Long, Hue, Hoi An, and Da Nang.
The grand finale of MGI 2023 is scheduled to take place at the Phu Tho Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City on October 25. The current titleholder, Isabella Menin from Brazil, will pass on her crown to the new queen.
Miss Grand International pageant was originally founded in 2013 by Nawat Itsaragrisil, a Thai television host and producer.
The contest was first held in Vietnam in 2017 and has played a significant role in promoting the country’s culture and tourism through nationwide tours. Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien became the first Vietnamese representative to be crowned Miss Grand International in 2021.
