The 2023 DIFF concluded its final night along the Han River, under the theme ‘A World Without Distance,’ featuring an exhilarating competition between the Italian and French teams. The event was graced by the presence of Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, alongside a multitude of local and international spectators.

The French contestants captivated the audience and claimed the prestigious title at the festival that commenced on June 2nd, featuring a breathtaking and emotionally charged fireworks display. The event brought together eight teams from countries such as the UK, Poland, Canada, France, Finland, Australia, Italy, and Vietnam.

The French team’s fireworks performance, titled “Lighting Up Love,” captivated the audience with an exhilarating musical backdrop. The performance showcased a fusion of French, U.S.-UK, K-pop songs, and even a Vietnamese song titled “Bay” (Fly), sung by the talented artist Thu Minh.

The audience was captivated by moving love melodies and swayed to the rhythmic music while being enchanted by the breathtaking fireworks illuminating the night sky.

The French team emerged victorious, securing the first place in the competition. As a result, they were granted the championship trophy and awarded a prize of $20,000 by the organizing board. Meanwhile, the Italian team, who came in second place, received a prize of $10,000.

The 2023 Da Nang International Film Festival (DIFF) was successfully organized by the Da Nang administration, with generous funding provided by Sun Group, a prominent multi-sectoral conglomerate in Vietnam.

“The festival has concluded, however, the city’s dreams and ambitions persist and will continue to be fostered and shared,” stated Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the Da Nang administration, as he concluded the international event.

We are committed to ensuring the well-being and happiness of every citizen through our dedicated efforts.

“We are committed to transforming Da Nang into a thriving and secure metropolis, while also fostering a sustainable and environmentally-friendly living environment.”

With the chosen theme, the local government aims to emphasize the importance of global connectivity and unity. They seek to bring countries closer together, bridging geographical distances, and fostering a shared desire for peace, love, and prosperity.

The inaugural DIFF took place in 2008 and was subsequently held every three years until transitioning to an annual event starting in 2017.
