Compliance with Environmental Regulations
Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company is committed to environmental protection and sustainability. Alongside its production and business activities, the company implements robust measures to safeguard the environment, with a focus on waste management, pollution control, and climate change response.
As of early 2024, the company has proactively adopted solutions to mitigate dust emissions from its power plants, as outlined in Plan No. 434/KH-NDDH dated January 29, 2024. These measures ensure that local communities are not adversely affected by the company’s operations.

Au Nguyen Dinh Thao, Deputy Director of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company, explained that their power plants utilize separate systems for collecting and transporting ash and slag. The collected ash is carefully discharged into closed container trucks or tank trucks and subsequently used as construction material or relocated to designated storage areas. Similarly, the bottom slag is discharged into specialized vehicles and put to constructive use.
Furthermore, the company has invested in a closed pipe system to efficiently transport fly ash from the Duyen Hai 1 Thermal Power Plant to seaports for export. This system ensures that the fly ash is supplied to partners in a controlled manner, using ships or barges with enclosed compartments, thereby preventing dust dispersion and mitigating environmental impact.
The company’s wastewater, dust, and gas treatment facilities consistently meet the stringent standards of QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT, QCVN 22:2009/BTNMT, and QCVN 19:2009/BTNMT. In September 2024, Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company upgraded the automatic environmental monitoring system at the expanded Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant and is currently working on similar upgrades for the Duyen Hai 1 and Duyen Hai 3 thermal power plants.
The company also diligently manages and controls industrial solid waste and hazardous waste in full compliance with regulations.
