The first and second runner-up spots at the Miss Equality World 2024 pageant were claimed by representatives from El Salvador and Indonesia, respectively. The competition, which took place in Thailand on Thursday evening, featured a diverse range of segments, including swimsuit, national costume, evening gown, and interview rounds.

Among the 13 global contestants, one stood out: Nguyen Trang Nhung. She consistently delivered strong performances throughout the pageant and ultimately clinched the title of Miss Equality World 2024. But her accolades didn’t stop there—she also walked away with two subsidiary awards: Best Talent and Best Photogenic.

Miss Equality World holds significant importance as one of the premier international beauty contests for transgender individuals, sharing the stage with Miss International Queen. Vietnam’s presence at these pageants has been notable, with Do Tay Ha securing the fourth runner-up title at Miss Equality World 2023.

Nguyen Trang Nhung’s triumph adds to Vietnam’s growing list of achievements in the transgender beauty queen arena. Born in 1994 in Vinh Long, Trang Nhung had previously reached the top nine in Miss International Queen Vietnam 2020 and improved further to finish in the top six in 2023. Today, she works as a model and dedicates her time to training child models at a children’s art center.

Her success serves as a testament to the talent and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community in Vietnam and beyond.
