The event was attended by Politburo members including permanent member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong and Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) cum Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communications and Education Vo Van Thuong.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the CCTCLA Nguyen The Ky appreciated the achievements in the theoretical and critical activities surrounding literature and arts.
The awards ceremony aimed to outstanding theoretical and critical works that have made significant contribution to the development of the country’s literature and arts.
The council presented awards to 15 works, including four A, seven B and four C prizes.
Seven agencies and units, including the Department of Culture – Arts from Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper, were also honoured for their contributions to the development of the nation’s theory and criticism of literature and arts.
The central council received 93 submissions, including 38 books and 55 articles and broadcast programmes.
On the same day, the Central Council for the Theory and Criticism of Literature and Arts held its eighth session for the 2016-2021 tenure, reviewing its operation in the first six months of 2020 and devising tasks for the remaining months.
