Guests visiting the Hang Trong folk paintings exhibition will have the opportunity to create their own folk paintings and engage in conversations with skilled artisans to learn more about the history of this art form.
In the music area, visitors can make musical instruments from recycled materials, and amateur musicians are welcome to showcase their own compositions.
The street art section offers locals the chance to have their portraits drawn by professional and amateur painters.
The organizers have made sure that these innovative spaces are accessible to everyone, including children and individuals with disabilities.
This event is part of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2022, which consists of 40 activities taking place throughout the capital city. The festival is co-organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the Vietnam Architect Association, the UNESCO Office in Hanoi, the Hanoi Promotion Agency, and the Hoan Kiem district People’s Committee.
With the theme “Design and Technology,” the festival will feature a variety of activities from November 11 to November 20, including exhibitions that will continue until February 2023.

Recently, Kim Hoang paintings and a number of wood-blocks of Kim Hoang paintings have been on display at a festival and an international workshop on woodcut paintings, as well as an exhibition on folk paintings printed from woodblocks, in the Republic of Korea (RoK).

A Talented Maker of Musical Instruments
We visited the musical instrument making workshop of Cao Ky Kinh in Thanh Cong Ward, Ba Dinh District of Hanoi where he was busy sawing a wood plate to make a two-string zither’s rod. Welcoming us to his house, Kinh took a bamboo flute and played it beautifully. The sounds went up and down, attracting our full attention.
