Can Tho’s tourism area, buckwheat flower farm crowded on the first day of Lunar New Year
The Con Son community tourism area and a buckwheat flower farm in Can Tho City, Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, received a large number of visitors on Sunday, the first day of the 2023 Lunar New Year.
According to the observation of Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper reporters, the Con Son community tourism area in Binh Thuy District and the Buckwheat Flower Farm in Cai Rang District attracted crowds of visitors seeking to revel in the festive atmosphere of the new year.
Although tam giac mach (buckwheat) flower is among the most well-known blooms in northern Vietnam’s Ha Giang Loop, this is the first time the wildflower has been successfully planted to attract tourists in southern Vietnam.

Trinh Van Luan, owner of the Tam Giac Mach Farm, said that the flowers have bloomed after the trial period just in time for Tet holiday.
“We transported the seeds from northwestern Vietnam. The blooming season lasts up to 25 days and is currently at its peak.
“We are always looking for new tourism products to better serve locals and visitors. It was initially tough to cultivate tam giac mach, but we tried to plant and take care of it,” Luan said.

During the performance, the entire school of hundreds of fish will jump or crawl on a board or eat food when they hear the knocking signal.
The creator of this tourism product, Nguyen Thanh Tam, stated that it took him months to train the fish to perform this trick. Further, they must be healthy and of good breeding.
As a means of maintaining natural aquatic resources, Tam will release the trained fish into the Hau River when they are too large or no longer able to perform tasks.
