India-Vietnam Festival to Boost Tourism and Cultural Ties

The upcoming India-Vietnam Festival will showcase a range of tourism activities, with 30 tour operators from India seeking cooperation opportunities in Vietnam. Indian firms are expressing strong interest in partnering with or investing in Vietnamese hotels to facilitate group tours to the country.

Madan Mohan Sethi, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, shared a recent proposal from an Indian company looking to establish ties with a local hotel. This reflects a growing trend, with the consulate receiving multiple requests from Indian businesses seeking connections with Vietnamese tourism partners over the past six months.

The festival, serving as a bridge between Indian and Vietnamese companies, will also highlight trade, railways, cinema, and education. It is expected to attract prominent Indian artists, including Avika Gor, Anupam Kher, Helly Shah, Yuvika Choudhary, and Rahul Mittra.

With a significant increase in Indian tourist arrivals in Vietnam, from 100,000 in 2019 to an expected 600,000 to one million this year, the event underscores the strong travel demand between the two countries, further enhanced by the availability of non-stop flights.
