The First Sounds of Love concert, a spectacular event uniting symphony orchestras from across Vietnam, is set to enchant audiences on July 10 at the Ho Guom Opera in Hanoi, marking its first anniversary.
This musical extravaganza will feature renowned artists, including Katherine Jenkins, Giuseppe Gipali, Meni Ardita, and People’s Artist Bui Cong Duy, alongside the harmonious collaboration of the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra, Saigon Pops Orchestra, and Green Wind Choir, all under the masterful baton of conductor Tran Nhat Minh. For the first time, two symphony orchestras from Northern and Southern Vietnam will unite on the iconic stage of the Ho Guom Opera, creating a historic musical moment.
Among the highlights of the program is the appearance of classical music superstar Katherine Jenkins, a Welsh soprano born in 1980. With her exceptional talent, Jenkins has been hailed as the world’s most successful classical singer, earning the title of “best-selling classical artist of the century” by Classic FM. She has collaborated with legendary artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Jose Carreras, and David Foster, to name a few.

Jenkins is not just a talented musician but also an ambassador for Wales, representing the country’s cultural heritage. Her musical achievements are underscored by consecutive Album of the Year awards at the Classic Brit Awards, solidifying her place in the classical music industry.
The First Sounds of Love concert is just the beginning of a series of prestigious arts programs gracing the Ho Guom Opera stage. Following this event, the Mozart Concert on August 23 and 24 will showcase the talents of Les Musiciens du Louvre Orchestra and singer Sofia. This orchestra is exclusively dedicated to performing the timeless compositions of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Les Musiciens du Louvre, founded in 1982, has earned a reputation as one of the finest orchestras in the world. Their presence in Vietnam will offer local audiences a rare opportunity to experience the pinnacle of classical music performance.
Adding to the international allure, the Royal Theater Symphony Orchestra of Versaille, France, will return to the Ho Guom Opera in September, following their acclaimed Four Seasons concert last April. Their performances on September 11 and 12 are highly anticipated.
Alongside these international showcases, the Ho Guom Opera will also host special Vietnamese arts programs. These include the classic opera Carmen on July 16 and the beloved musical La Traviata on August 9 and 10, offering a diverse range of cultural experiences.
As a highlight of the fall season, a themed concert night, Marching on the Capital, will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi, celebrating the rich history and cultural heritage of the city.
Ho Guom Opera, located at 40-40A Hang Bai Street, Hoan Kiem District, was envisioned as a modern cultural and artistic hub. It has swiftly risen to prominence, earning a place among the top 10 opera houses globally, as recognized by the World Travel Awards (WTA).
In its first year of operation, the opera house has already presented approximately fifty high-caliber artistic events, showcasing the talents of renowned orchestras, artists, and Vietnamese performers. With its ambitious programming, Ho Guom Opera aims to become a central destination for performing arts enthusiasts from Vietnam and beyond.
