With the easing of social distancing after the pandemic was largely brought under control, many people have booked tours to well-known destinations such as Mu Cang Chai, Sapa, and Ha Long Bay, while Phu Quoc Island, Nha Trang, and Mui Ne are also in high demand as people feel the need to get away.

Hit by two Covid-19 waves since January this year, accommodation providers saw more positive signs in August. They have prepared a number of promotions to lure visitors. Many 5-star hotels have cut room rates by 30 to 50%.

According to the Tourism Department, a promotion programme has been sent to businesses for recommendations. The programme is aimed at domestic tourists in Vietnam as well as foreigners living in the country and the 5,000 international tourists expected to come to Vietnam each week after international flights resume./.
