Vietnam Weather Update (Jan. 27): Cold Waves Strengthen in the North, High Temperatures in the South

January 27 is expected to bring cold weather with low temperatures in the Northern region of Vietnam, while the South can look forward to another day of sunny skies.

The North and Central regions have been widely affected by a strong cold air mass, leading to the appearance of frost in some mountainous areas in the north. The inland northeast wind is strong at level 3, while in coastal areas, it reaches level 4-5 with gusts up to level 7-8. Additionally, the northern region of the East Sea is experiencing strong winds at level 7.

Meteorological experts predict that the severe cold weather in the North and North Central regions may persist until around January 29. Snowfall and frost are still possible in high mountain areas.

Meanwhile, the weather in the Central Highlands and the South remains stable, with sunny days. However, some places in the South may experience showers at night.

Weather Forecast for Different Regions

Northwest region: The weather is expected to be cloudy with drizzles in the early morning and at night. The low temperatures can be harmful to people’s health. High mountain areas may experience frost and snow. The lowest temperature is 8 – 11 degrees, with some areas in the high mountains falling below 0 degrees. The highest temperature is 11-14 degrees, with some areas reaching above 14 degrees.

Northeast region: The weather will be cloudy with moderate to heavy rain in some places. High mountain areas may experience frost and snow. The lowest temperature ranges from 8 to 11 degrees, while some mountainous areas can drop below 0 degrees. The highest temperature ranges from 11 to 14 degrees.

Thanh Hoa – Thua Thien Hue: The weather is expected to be cloudy with moderate rain in some places, and heavy showers at night. The low temperatures can have a negative impact on people’s health. The lowest temperature is 11-14 degrees. The highest temperature is between 13-15 degrees in the North and 16-19 degrees in the South.

Da Nang – Binh Thuan: The weather will be cloudy with scattered showers in the region. The northeast wind is at level 3, while coastal areas experience level 4-5 winds, with some places having strong winds at level 6-7. The North is particularly cold, with the lowest temperature ranging from 18-21 degrees, and the South experiencing temperatures between 22-24 degrees. The highest temperature is 23-26 degrees in the North and 27-30 degrees in the South.

The Central Highlands: The weather is expected to be cloudy during the day with rain at night. The northeast wind is at level 2-3. The lowest temperature ranges from 16-19 degrees, with some areas falling below 16 degrees. The highest temperature ranges from 26-29 degrees.

The Southern region: The weather will be cloudy during the day with light rain at night. The lowest temperature is 22-25 degrees, while the highest temperature ranges from 31-34 degrees, with some places exceeding 34 degrees.

Weather Forecast for Major Cities

Hanoi: The National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting predicts that the weather in Hanoi will be cloudy and cold, with drizzles in the early morning. The weather will be extremely cold in the evening and at night. The temperature ranges from 13-15 degrees, which is an increase of 2 degrees compared to the previous day. The relative humidity is between 55-61%, and the cloud density is 100%.

Ho Chi Minh City: According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather in the Ho Chi Minh City area will be sunny, but the temperature is expected to slightly decrease. The temperature ranges from 32-34 degrees, which is 1 degree lower than the previous day. The relative humidity is between 50-65%, and the cloud density is 36-56%.

Da Nang: The weather in the Da Nang area will be cloudy with moderate rain and cold nights. The temperature ranges from 22-23 degrees during the day, which is an increase of 1 degree compared to the previous day. The relative humidity is between 76-80%, and the cloud density is 99%. At night, the temperature drops to 20-21 degrees.
