According to The Travel, there is no place that offers everything for tourists like Vietnam with world-famous dishes, friendly and hospitable people. Accommodation facilities are affordable, with good service quality.

Coming to Vietnam, visitors have the opportunity to explore the beautiful nature with world famous attractions such as Ha Long Bay, Trang An, Phong Nha-Ke Bang, Phu Quoc.

If you are looking for “hidden gems,” tourists definitely cannot ignore Phu Yen, Quy Nhon, Phu Quy or Yen Bai, Cao Bang, Kon Tum, all of which are pristine places that are little known to international tourists.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet said that the history of tourism development in Vietnam began on July 9, 1960.

In the early days of establishment, under difficult conditions when the country was still at war, the tourism industry made great efforts to gradually expand facilities in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Tam Dao (Vinh Phuc), Hoa Binh, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An.

The continuous growth of tourists promoted the expansion of Vietnam tourism’s operation scale in all fields, significantly contributing to the country’s socio-economic development.

The tourism industry welcomed and served 250,000 international tourists in 1990, by 2019, it welcomed 18 million visitors, a 72-fold increase in 29 years.

Domestic tourists increased sharply from 1 million arrivals in 1990 to 2019 reaching 85 million arrivals.

After a long time being heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, since November 2021, our country piloted to welcome international tourists and officially opened for tourism from March 15, 2022.

This is an important milestone and turning point in promoting the recovery of Vietnam’s tourism industry.

Following the recovery momentum of 2022, by the end of the first 6 months of 2023, the total number of international tourists to Vietnam in the first 6 months of the year reached more than 5.5 million. The total number of domestic tourists reached about 64 million.

According to tourism experts, the target of welcoming 8 million international visitors this year is likely to exceed the set target. Accordingly, Vietnam can welcome 12 million international visitors in 2023.

The number of searches about Vietnam tourism increased rapidly to the top of the world. The growth of Vietnam’s tourism industry demonstrated the belief in strong recovery and development.

It also gradually affirmed its position and important role in socio-economic development, contributing to job creation, hunger eradication and poverty alleviation, ensuring social security, preserving and promoting cultural values, affirming the image, position and prestige of Vietnam.

Vietnam tourism is formed on the basis of regional tourism brand, local destination, tourism product, ensuring consistency in the system.

The whole industry continues to promote the tourism brand with the title and logo “Vietnam – Timeless Charm” for the international tourist market and “Vietnam – Endless Beauty” for the domestic tourist market.

The development of Vietnam’s tourism strengthened the relationship between countries. Vietnam tourism has become a large economic sector in the country.

The whole industry made great efforts and believed that Vietnam’s tourism will soon recover, returning to the previous growth momentum, developing towards the goal of becoming a spearhead economic sector.
