Some examples are the 3rd Asian Indoor Games in 2009 (Vietnam), the 5th Asian Beach Games in 2016 (Vietnam), and the 2019 Asian Football Championship (UAE).
In particular, at the 2023 Asian Youth Chess Championship in December 2023 in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Vietnamese team had 48 participating players in all age categories and competition contents. The team won 14 gold medals, 17 silver medals, and 17 bronze medals.
