Da Nang Hopes to Promote Cooperation with UK's Educational Institutions
Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee had a working session with Sam Wood, UK Deputy Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City on October 18.

Da Nang has set a goal to become a city of creativity and startups, a major socio-economic center of the country, the nucleus of the urban chain, and a growing pole in the key economic region of the Central region – Central Highlands by 2025, according to Tran Chi Cuong.

To achieve that goal, he proposes that the UK Deputy Consul General in Ho Chi Minh introduce delegations from the UK to visit and explore Da Nang’s investment environment and cooperation opportunities in education, training, innovation, information technology, and high-tech agriculture.

He also hopes that the UK Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City facilitates Da Nang and Birmingham to establish cooperative relations, so Da Nang students have a better chance to study in UK training institutions, especially in high technology, information technology, and biotechnology.

For his part, Sam Wood said that universities in the UK are willing to contribute to the vision and development of Da Nang. He expressed his hope that cross-border educational activities and exchange programs can contribute to improving Vietnamese officials’ English skills and bring them more career opportunities, thereby contributing to the overall development of the region, the country, and the bilateral relations between Vietnam and the UK.
