Lai Chau embraces community tourism
Authorities in the northern province of Lai Chau are promoting policies for community-based tourism to develop the local economy and create jobs.

Curious about the verse “Her season of fragrance of glutinous rice in Mai Chau” in the poem “Tay Tien” by poet Quang Dung, we decided to visit Lac Hamlet in Mai Chau township in the northern province of Hoa Binh. We were amazed at the landscape of the area and had a chance to enjoy many traditional foods of the Thai ethnic people, including the most famous dish – purple steamed glutinous rice and chicken grilled with wild pepper.

Phieng Ban hamlet in Na Tau commune, Dien Bien Phu city is home to more than 20 hectares of plum trees. Plum flowers in Na Tau start to bloom from mid-January to the end of February, creating a dreaming scenery of the northwestern region in spring.
Then Kin Pang festival of Thai ethnic people in Lai Chau
The Then Kin Pang festival is held annually on the 9th and 10th days of the third lunar month, when thousands of people from Vietnam and overseas flock to Khổng Lao commune in Phong Thổ district, Lai Chau province in celebration. It’s a traditional event of the White Thai ethnic people and features several unique and attractive activities.
