News about the Economy

The Central Bank of Brazil announced that the Brazilian economy grew 0.4% in the third quarter of 2020, compared to the previous quarter.

The opening ceremony of the four-day event, which covers more than 70 cultural and sports activities, took place at April 2 Square in Nha Trang, the city capital of Khanh Hoa Province, organised by the provincial People’s Committee.

At a ceremony to launch the Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Biennial Festival on Tuesday, Dinh Van Thieu, deputy chairman of the Khanh Hoa administration, said the festival, which was first launched in 2003, reflects traditional and contemporary cultural values toward preserving and promoting the cultural quintessence of the nation in general and Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa in particular.

The organizing board has announced that the Khanh Hoa 370th Anniversary Festival, which was put on hold in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will take place in order to commemorate the construction and development of Khanh Hoa from 1653 to 2023.

This year’s festival began with a spectacular show featuring motorized paragliding, LED kites, and ten hot-air balloons creating 3D effects in the sky, bringing excitement and joy to thousands of onlookers.

The main highlight of the ceremony was the brilliant light show by more than 1,600 drones that were arranged to form different words and spectacle structures, including aircraft in the sky, attracting a lot of audiences.

Following the drone light show, a five-minute artistic fireworks display was presented, accompanied by multi-layered sound and light effects.

After the opening ceremony, a unique art and music program took place, consisting of two parts: “Love words of the sea” and “Sea – development potential.”

The program began with a song that featured the beauty of the country’s sea areas stretching from north to south, and of the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa in the East Vietnam Sea.

During the festival, which will last until Tuesday, there will be a variety of exciting sports and cultural events, including a fish-worshiping festival, a hip-hop club party, a fishing contest, a marathon race entitled ‘Run to Future’, art and music performances, and a fashion show.

The Vietnam News Agency predicts that Khanh Hoa will welcome approximately 100,000 tourists during the festival.

This year, the province’s Department of Tourism has estimated that the province will receive 4 million visitors, with 1.5 million of those visitors being from outside the country. It is expected that this influx of visitors will bring in around VND21 trillion (US$894.4 million) in tourism revenue.

This year’s targets for travelers and revenue are significantly higher than the 2.57 million travelers and VND14 trillion ($596.2 million) revenue achieved in 2022.
