The four-day Saigontourist Group Food and Culture Festival 2023 held at Van Thanh Tourist Site in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City concluded on Sunday evening, having welcomed over 40,000 visitors. The festival featured an array of culinary and cultural offerings for attendees to enjoy.
The attendance at the festival was surprising, with local visitors as well as many from far away localities, like Ca Mau Province in the south of Vietnam.
Thousands of foreign tourists flocked to the festival to experience local delicacies and folk games, while a great number of overseas Vietnamese people returned to the country to take part in the event and get a taste of traditional Vietnam, according to Pham Huy Binh, Chairman of Saigontourist Group, the organizer of the fest.
Given the overwhelming success of the festival, Binh said that the tourism firm plans to host the food and culture festival annually and turn it into a world-class event.
The Saigontourist Group is planning to hold a Food and Culture Festival in many countries to introduce Vietnamese food and cultural characteristics to international visitors, the representative of Saigontourist Group announced. With this event, they hope to promote and popularize Vietnamese cuisine and culture across the globe.
This year’s festival featured an incredible selection of over 350 local dishes hailing from three distinct regions of Vietnam, delighting both food lovers and domestic and international tourists alike.

First launched in 2022, the Saigontourist Food and Culture Festival was hailed as the ‘Asia’s Best Culinary Festival 2022’ by the World Culinary Awards. An event of its kind, it celebrated the gastronomical delights of Vietnam, showcasing the country’s unique flavors and culture. From street food to high-end restaurants, the festival offered a plethora of culinary experiences for visitors to enjoy. The event also featured art exhibitions, live music performances, and other activities designed to entertain and educate those who attended. With its mix of culture, food, and entertainment, the Saigontourist Food and Culture Festival was truly a memorable experience for all who attended.
The first edition of the city’s culinary extravaganza was unveiled in August 2022, boasting over 30 booths with a dazzling array of 300 dishes.
The recognition for the organizer’s efforts in hosting the first edition of the festival was one of the motivations behind the launch of the second, more creative and larger-scale festival, said a representative of Saigontourist Group.
