Carnival Ha Long is an annual cultural event that marks the beginning of the summer tourism season in Ha Long City, the home of the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ha Long Bay. Every year, the celebration draws visitors from far and wide to enjoy a vibrant and exciting atmosphere full of music, dancing, and entertainment.

This is the 15th year that the carnival has been held to welcome visitors and showcase the natural beauty, local culture, unique cuisine, and a variety of tourism offerings in Ha Long.

The programme includes an opening ceremony, art performances, street festivals, and a low-range fireworks display.

Organizers plan to invite renowned singers, dancers, beauty queens, professional actors, folk artisans, and almost 2,000 local artists to take part in the program, Nguyen Ngoc Son, the Deputy Head of the Ha Long City Administration and Deputy Head of the Organizing Board, stated.

The goal of the city is to promote the image of Ha Long Bay – a world natural heritage recognized by UNESCO 29 years ago – and to popularize the Carnival Ha Long brand in its 15th year, he added.

The Carnival 2023 is set to take place during a five-day break that will give Vietnamese people the opportunity to celebrate National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1). The festivities will begin on April 29.

On this occasion, Ha Long will organize a series of exciting activities, including the Tran Quoc Nghien Temple Festival, a modern dance competition, a kite-flying extravaganza, and other sporting events.

Ha Long City is aiming to welcome 8.6 million local and international visitors in 2021. This is a significant increase from previous years, and the city is confident that its attractions and amenities will ensure a pleasant and memorable experience for each and every guest.
