Two months since the launch of the event, the Vietnam Stage Artists Association has received more than 200 entries from authors and artists nationwide in many genres such as: traditional Tuong (Vietnamese classical opera); Cheo (Vietnamese traditional opera); Cai luong (Vietnamese reformed opera); drama; and Bai Choi singing (folk music).
The organising board selected 143 outstanding works for the final round.
According to People’s Artist Giang Manh Ha, Chairman of the Arts Council, most of the works show a clear message on the topic of Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control, focusing on praising the frontline forces in the fight against COVID-19. The works also focused on building and portraying the images of typical people, outstanding factors, examples of sacrifices to overcome difficulties, and engaging in the pandemic’s hottest spots. Meanwhile, the works also honoured many collectives, units, organisations and individuals as well as the political system and the whole people who have participated in creating a source of boundless synergy to repel the COVID-19 epidemic.
After evaluation, the organising board selected and awarded 38 A prizes, 24 B prizes for works with artistic and content quality, and two excellent individual awards, including: Best Director, Best Cinematography.
In addition, the Most Favourite Work Award (with the most shares, favourites, and comments) went to two works: “Lop Hoc Dac Biet Mua COVID” by Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre, and “Tinh Anh Nguoi Chien Si Ao Trang” (Author: Le The Song, Performer: People’s Artist Tu Long)
The individual prizes and the voting prizes have the same value as the A prize.
The response and participation of such a large number of artists for the award launched by the Vietnam Theater Artists Association has shown the high sense of responsibility of stage artists in the propaganda for the prevention of the epidemic.
