Among them, three will participate in the festival for the first time, as announced by the Da Nang City People’s Committee on Thursday.

The fireworks display will take place along the bank of the Han River, and there will be art performances on a stage set up on the sidewalk of Tran Hung Dao Street.

The seven international teams are from France, Italy, the United States, Germany, Poland, China, and Finland.

They will compete alongside a team from Da Nang.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for June 8, and fireworks displays will be held on Saturdays during the following weeks until the final round of the annual competition on July 13.

Each team will have 20 minutes to light up the sky above the central Vietnam city.

The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival was first organized in 2008.

This year will mark the 12th edition of the event and is expected to bring a significant influx of tourists to the coastal city.

In the first half of last year, the city welcomed over 3.5 million tourists, a 116.6 percent increase compared to the previous year.

The number of international visitors reached 930,000, representing an 11.3-fold rise year on year.

During that period, the city received up to 150 flights per day, a 1.5-fold increase compared to normal days. Additionally, hotel occupancy rates soared to 70 percent.
