The Travel stated that Ha Long Bay, which has twice been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, is the Vietnamese representative to make the list, coming in fifth place.

Scattered throughout the bay are over 1,600 limestone towers and islands covered in tropical trees, with the majority of the islands left uninhabited and unaffected by humans.

The article noted that the best way to experience this mist-shrouded landscape is to board a traditional junk boat and then sail through the area to enjoy the outstanding scenic beauty on offer. Visitors can then get off to explore the various cave formations across the bay, including Thien Cung Cave and Surprise Cave, both of which offer impressive sweeping views of the water below.

Along with Ha Long Bay, the Cambodian temple of Angkor Wat is the second representative in Southeast Asia to make the list, coming in fourth.

Elsewhere, China’s Zhangjiajie National Forest topped the list, which was the inspiration of the movie Avatar offering equally stunning scenes.

Rounding off the list are all famous global tourist locations, including Venice (Italy), Yellowstone National Park (USA), Santorini island (Greece), the world’s largest salt flat of Salar de Uyuni (Bolivia), Patagonia region (Chile), Bora Bora island (French Polynesia), and Banff National Park( Canada).

Ha Long Bay regularly appears on lists of outstanding destinations in Vietnam, VNA reported.

With a coastline of 120km, the UNESCO heritage site Ha Long Bay is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Vietnam. The jade-green bay won the hearts of international tourists and has been named in a series of rankings including the Top 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Asia, the top 29 best places to visit in Southeast Asia, and the top 50 most beautiful natural wonders on Earth.

Amidst the beautiful landscape, Sun World Ha Long Park complex in Ha Long Bay provides fun and tremendous excitement to visitors of all ages, as they can take part in exciting and adventurous games at Dragon Park and Typhoon Water Park.

They can also take sightseeing trips to Bao Hai Linh Thong Tu cultural and spiritual complex or experience their journey across Ha Long Bay and admire the beautiful heritage city scene at night from above by Queen Cable Car in the complex.

Quang Ninh has great potential to develop diverse tourism forms thanks to beautiful landscapes with over 2,077 islands in different sizes and shapes together with 632 landscape and relic sites, and especially Ha Long Bay – a UNESCO-recognised World Natural Heritage Site. Quang Ninh is the only locality with land and sea border lines with China and an important gateway to China and ASEAN countries.

In 2022, Quang Ninh aims to host over 10 million tourists, including 1.5 million foreigners. As a result, its tourism revenue is expected at some VND 21 trillion (USD 917.43 million).
