PM meets leaders of several France-based organizations

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mathias Cormann, Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation and Development Organisation (OECD) in Paris on November 5 (local time).

Chinh thanked OECD for close cooperation with Vietnam over the past time. He proposed the OECD continue supporting Vietnam in post-pandemic socio-economic recovery, consultancy on policies and resource mobilisation for in high-quality human resources development.

OECD Secretary General Cormann said Vietnam is the OECD’s important partner in Southeast Asia, wishing to closely cooperate with the country as well as other regional countries in the coming time.

On the same day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in Paris, France, and met with Director-General of UNESCO Audrey Azoulay.

On the occasion, the Vietnamese witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on Vietnam-UNESCO cooperation for the 2021-25, along with a cooperation agreement between SOVICO Group and UNESCO.

At a meeting on November 5 (local time) with Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary-General of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh confirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to its cooperative relations with the Francophone community and actively contributes to its common activities.

Also on his final day in France, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received a delegation of the France-Vietnam Friendship Association (AAFV) led by its President Gérard Daviot./.
