With the theme “Hanoi Autumn – Historic Autumn,” this cultural event, held in the Hoan Kiem Pedestrian Zone, celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Capital’s Liberation Day. It’s an opportunity to showcase the city’s beauty, cultural and historical richness, and unique attractions.

According to Nguyen Anh Duong, Director of the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, the festival intends to highlight Hanoi’s distinct features and charm. “Hanoi’s tourism is undergoing a significant transformation, and we believe it serves as a vital link in regional and international connectivity. We hope that through experiences like the 2nd Hanoi Autumn Festival in 2024, delegates and visitors will be left with lasting impressions of Hanoi as a must-visit destination—attractive, safe, and friendly,” he shared.

One of the key focuses of the event is to honor the artisans from Hanoi’s traditional handicraft villages. Various booths display the incredible talent and craftsmanship of these villages, including Thiet Ung woodwork, Bat Trang pottery, Ha Thai lacquer, and Van Phuc silk, to name a few. It’s a celebration of Hanoi’s rich cultural heritage and a chance to preserve and promote these traditional arts.

The opening ceremony on September 20 also had a charitable aspect, with the Hanoi Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front raising over VND213 million (US$8,700) to support the victims of Typhoon Yagi, showcasing the community’s spirit of giving back.
