Ansys, Inc., a US-based engineering simulation software provider, has announced a collaboration program with local universities in Vietnam. Through this program, Ansys will provide educational software tools and training programs to universities with strong Sci-Tech capabilities. This initiative aims to give students access to the latest engineering simulation technology and methodologies, allowing them to gain practical experience in the high-tech field. The collaboration will also enhance the operational capabilities of the Saigon Hi-Tech Park’s Electronics and Semiconductor Centre (ESC), according to Nguyen Anh Thi, head of the park’s management board.
Rafiq Somani, Ansys Area Vice President of India and South Asia Pacific, emphasized the conglomerate’s objective of assisting the SHTP in developing simulation skills and design capabilities for high-tech industries.

Vice Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee, Vo Van Hoan, expressed his hopes for Ansys to collaborate with the city in attracting semiconductor investors. The city has prepared resources and favorable policies to welcome technology enterprises and corporations for cooperation and development.
According to Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Nguyen Huy Dung, Vietnam has made significant progress in digital transformation in 2023. The country was ranked 46th out of 132 countries and territories in terms of the Global Innovation Index (GII). Vietnam also maintains its position as the fastest-growing digital economy in Southeast Asia. The e-Conomy SEA report released by Google, Temasek, and Bain & Company reveals that Vietnam’s digital economy is expected to continue its rapid growth until 2025.
The Ministry of Information and Communications has implemented various measures to support digital transformation, including administrative reform and the provision of online public services. Vietnam now has 13 data center service providers and 45 data centers, employing nearly 28,000 workers in the field of information technology and digital technology.
The ministry has identified the digital economy as a new and potential space for sectors, aiming to raise the digital economy’s rate in the national economy to 20% by 2025 and 30% by 2030.
In 2024, Vietnam will focus on finding new space and development motivations to boost economic growth and labor productivity. The Ministry of Information and Communications will prioritize the universalization of digital infrastructure and the development of digital applications to support the digital economy.
