The festival served as a heartfelt tribute to Nguyen Quy Cong, also revered as Hoang Phuc Trung or Hoang Le Mat, a figure of great significance to Le Mat Village in Viet Hung Ward, Long Bien District.

Nguyen Quy Cong embodied unwavering loyalty to his nation, selflessness, and a deep sense of compassion for his fellow citizens. His exemplary life has earned him saintly status, with royal decrees from the Ly, Tran, Le, and Nguyen dynasties honoring his name.

Saint Hoang Phuc Trung is credited with the development of the thriving agricultural hub, Thap Tam Trai (the Thirteen Villages), located in the western region of the historic Thang Long Citadel. This fertile area encompassed villages such as Thu Le, Van Phuc, Thuy Khue, and Hao Nam, each contributing to the region’s prosperity with their unique specialties.

Thap Tam Trai held strategic military importance as it protected ancient Thang Long, while also serving as a vibrant center for agriculture and artisanal crafts, supplying the capital with essential goods.

Each village within Thap Tam Trai had its own unique contribution: Ngoc Ha with its silk weaving and flower cultivation, Huu Tiep specializing in carpentry and floriculture, Hao Nam known for its vegetable farms, and Dai Yen, a hub for traditional medicine.

The two-day festival, held on the 11th and 12th of the 10th lunar month, included solemn ceremonies such as water processions, offerings, and incense dedications. The traditional art performance on the first night, involving participants from Thap Tam Trai, added a touch of cultural richness to the event.

Simultaneously, other communal houses dedicated to Saint Hoang Phuc Trung, including Vinh Phuc 2, Cong Vi, Lieu Giai, and Le Mat Temple, held their own commemorative ceremonies, uniting the community in gratitude and respect.

Ta Nam Chien, Chairman of the Ba Dinh District People’s Committee, affirmed the district’s commitment to building on their achievements. He shared their strive to meet the 2024 targets for Party building, economic growth, cultural advancement, and national defense development.

“Ba Dinh District will continue to foster unity, stability, and peace, befitting its role as the administrative and political heart of our nation and as a district of heroes,” he proudly stated.

With a call to dedication and responsibility, Chairman Ta Nam Chien urged all Party committees, authorities, and organizations to continue their patriotic emulation movements, striving for excellence and fulfilling their political missions. Through these efforts, they aim to contribute to a refined, civilized Hanoi and a community that embodies dignity and compassion in Ba Dinh.
