According to data from OAG, the world’s leading provider of digital flight information, three air routes in Vietnam are among the top 10 busiest domestic flight routes in Southeast Asia for August 2024. These routes include Ha Noi-Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi-Da Nang, and Da Nang-Ho Chi Minh City.

OAG’s data is based on the number of seats sold on flights, with the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route ranking first in the region with 949,246 seats sold in August. The Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang – Hanoi routes also made it to the top 10, selling 427,779 and 410,000 seats, respectively.
Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City Air Route
In 2023, the Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route was among the world’s four busiest domestic air routes, carrying over 9 million passengers, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV). This figure accounted for 22% of Vietnam’s total domestic flight passengers.
Additionally, there were 43,000 flights conducted on this route, making up 17.5% of all domestic flights in the country.

Vietnam’s aviation industry has shown remarkable growth this year, with local airlines carrying 74 million passengers, a 34.5% increase from 2022, and reaching 94% of pre-pandemic levels. Of these passengers, 32 million were foreigners, a 1.7-fold increase from 2022 and equivalent to 77% of pre-pandemic levels in 2019.
The industry aims to transport 80.3 million passengers in 2024, reflecting a 7.1% year-on-year rise.
Hanoi – Da Nang Air Route

Ticket prices for this route can vary depending on factors such as the airline, service class, booking time, and travel dates. On average, one-way tickets range from 600,000 to 2,430,000 VND, while round-trip tickets cost between 1,516,000 and 2,156,000 VND.
