According to local folklore, the Mother Elephant rock was initially situated in the northern region, overlooking Lak Lake. However, to the astonishment of the residents, the rock mysteriously relocated overnight, resting on a vast field in the midst of the expansive valley, adjacent to the Chu Yang Sin range.

According to the elders, the initial state of the rock was remarkably soft, resembling a mudflat oozing onto the ground. Everyone eagerly scaled its surface, running and frolicking upon it. Subsequently, the stone underwent an abrupt transformation, hardening to its present state. Remarkably, remnants of the past, including what is believed to be the footprints of humans and animals, still endure on the rear of the stone.

In the village, there once lived a wealthy man named Y Thui, who had two lovely daughters named H’Hoa and H’Thao. A fascinating tale surrounds these two sisters. One day, they ventured to the Father Elephant rock, a place known for its unique properties. To their surprise, the previously soft rock had transformed into a hard and solid structure. Unfortunately, H’Hoa accidentally fell into the rock and found herself trapped inside, unable to escape.

Y Thui mobilized a group of people, as well as elephants and buffaloes, in an attempt to free herself from the situation. However, despite their efforts, they were unable to succeed. Over the course of seven days and nights, H’Hoa tragically became entirely swallowed by the rock. With a sense of helplessness, everyone could only watch as the young girl slowly disappeared, without the ability to assist her.

That evening, H’Hoa appeared in the dreams of her family members, assuring them that she and Yang Tao, the deity of rocks, were leading a blissful existence. She advised everyone not to mourn, as the stone god would bestow blessings upon the village.

The Mother Elephant rock holds significant cultural and spiritual significance for the local community, as it is revered as a sacred entity. The local people deeply believe in the divine nature of this stone.
