Speaking at a press conference in Hanoi on September 20, Nguyen Thai An, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee, stated that this year’s congress aims to honor individuals who have excelled in studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and style during the period of 2020 – 2023. It also aims to spread a positive influence on young people across the country.

“Participants at the congress are exemplary individuals from various sectors such as officials, entrepreneurs, scientists, athletes, and more. They have been carefully selected as delegates to participate in this congress due to their good reputation and influence among Vietnamese youth union members and young people,” said An.
During the 3-day congress, in addition to in-person activities such as reporting work to Uncle Ho, meeting with party and state leaders, and visiting the Presidential Palace and Ho Chi Minh Museum, there will be 6 online discussion panels. This is the first time the discussion panels will be hosted online.
According to the HCYU Central Committee, the six discussion topics are Nurturing good spirit and minds, building great ambitions in youth, Developing and defending the Fatherland, Studying for tomorrow’s career, Youth’s mission to revive cultural values in the digital era, Global integration with confidence, and Unity to promote the nation’s internal power. Starting from September 19, delegates will share their messages in the online forums and participate in discussions on the assigned topics at the end of the Congress. The most meaningful messages that represent the topics will be posted on various online channels and social networks to actively spread the positive influence of the congress.

“This is a new highlight of the 2023 Congress compared to previous Congresses. This result is achieved thanks to the powerful application of digital transformation,” said the Head of the Propaganda Department of the HCYU Central Committee at the press conference.
Among the 420 delegates, there are 30 oldest delegates (35 years old), 5 youngest delegates (16 years old), and 77 representatives of ethnic minority groups. There are 255 male delegates (60.71%) and 165 female delegates (39.29%).
Twice every five years, the National Congress of Advanced Youngsters following Uncle’s Teachings is held by the Secretariats of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee to continue implementing Directive 05-CT/TW of the Politburo term XII, promoting learning and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and style among Vietnamese cadres, youth union members, and young people. The first Congress was held in 2009. After 6 Congresses, 2,182 delegates have been awarded the title of “Advanced Youngsters following Uncle’s Teachings”. |
Documentary series “Vietnam in the Ho Chi Minh Era – A Television History” premiered
NDO – The first episode of the television documentary series entitled “Vietnam in the Ho Chi Minh Era – A Television History” officially aired on February 4 on the Vietnam Television and Nhan Dan (People) Television channels.
