Marvelous Dai Yem waterfall in Moc Chau plateau

Dai Yem waterfall, also known as Nang or Ban Vat waterfall, lies in Muong La commune, Moc Chau district, has long been a magnetic attraction of many travel lovers.

Dai Yem waterfall originates from two waterways named Bo Co Lam and Bo Ta Chu in Vat village, stretching for roughly 100 meters high and divided into two levels. The second located 150 meters at an angle below the first one. Above the second waterfall is a floral stretch of land from where visitors can view the surrounding mountainous view.The waterfall makes a scenic background for photo lovers who seek for picturesque check-in pictures. Legend has it that the waterfall is the brassiere of the girl who saved a boy from the floodwater. The story is closely related to the history of Thai people in Muon Sang land.

April to September each year is the most ideal time to visit the place, it’s when the 70-meter-wide fall gushes down its slope, looking a dazzling white and imposingly dramatic and poetic.

Dai Yem waterfall is some 5km away from the center of Chau district. From the district center, visitors can either get on a car ride or trek along the stream path for around 4 km to reach the waterfall.

Besides admiring the sheer beauty of Mother Nature, visitors can also have a chance to sample a wide range of specialties of the Northwest region, including fresh produces, the special pork, and beef cooked the ethnic people’s way.
