Saxophonist Kenny G Promises a Music Night Full of Surprises for Vietnamese Audience
On November 13, a press conference was held before the event, featuring artist Kenny G.

The performance will mark the opening of the “Good Morning Vietnam” international music project, expected to be held annually not only to spread the world’s top music to Vietnam but also with human values because all proceeds will be donated for charitable activities, hosted by Nhan Dan Newspaper.

At the press conference, a Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Le Quoc Minh said: “The program aims to bring top international music to Vietnam. So we chose the name “Good Morning Vietnam,” because we envision it as a friendly greeting that every foreigner coming to Vietnam can say and we also welcome international friends like that”.

Five years ago, Vietnamese audiences enjoyed a performance by artist Kenny G, thus, on his second visit to Vietnam, the organizing board tried to create the best conditions to bring their audience an impressive musical art party.

Kenny G expressed his delight: “I was very surprised by the love of the Vietnamese audience. I hope with your love, I will come to Vietnam to perform frequently, maybe not every 5 years, but every 3 years or less”.

At the event, Kenny G donated a saxophone to the organizing board to conduct a charity auction for the “Good Morning Vietnam” project to support people in difficult circumstances, especially children. The trumpet he gave to the organizing board is an alto saxophone, which is a replica of the trumpet he used when he first started his career. Currently, this trumpet is no longer produced.

The music night “Kenny G live in Vietnam” will take place for nearly 2 hours following the performance format of artist Kenny G on major stages around the world. The Grammy Award-winning artist will play all of the most famous songs over the years such as Going Home, Havana, Romeo & Juliet, and My Heart Will Go On, yet in new versions. In addition, he will perform some works from the new album.

In a series of activities in Vietnam, artist Kenny G will present to the audience a special MV, filmed at famous cultural and historical locations in Vietnam. After finishing the shows in Hanoi, artist Kenny G will have a vacation in Da Nang, visiting the ancient town of Hoi An (Quang Nam).
