During the Lunar New Year, which takes place from February 8th to 14th, the tourism industry in the country is expected to welcome 10.5 million domestic visitors, an increase of 16.6% compared to the same period in 2023. This includes approximately 3.5 million visitors. The average room occupancy rate in the tourist accommodation system is estimated to be at 45-50%.
Many localities have seen an increase in international visitors. Da Nang is expected to welcome nearly 177,000 arrivals, while Hanoi welcomes nearly 103,000 visitors, which is 2.2 times higher compared to the same period in 2023. Ninh Binh is estimated to welcome nearly 100,000 visitors, with 97,000 arrivals in Ninh Binh, a 42% increase. Quang Ninh attracted 89,767 visitors, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed 75,000 visitors, an increase of 15.4% compared to the same period in 2023, and Lam Dong received 20,000 visitors.

According to the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, the number of international visitors continues to increase compared to the Lunar New Year in 2023, thanks to favorable visa policies, efforts from businesses and localities, and effective advertisements.
During the Tet holiday, the weather is pleasant, with vibrant tourism activities throughout Vietnam. Tourists tend to choose famous heritage, spiritual, and cultural destinations in various localities. The northern mountains attract many visitors who come to admire the blooming plum, apricot, and peach blossoms. The trend of self-sufficient travel and self-booking services is on the rise, especially in destinations near Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
This year, many new tourism products have been introduced, combining creative ideas and new technologies. Attractive promotion programs have also been launched.
In addition, the air service quality and number of seats have been improved to meet the demands of passengers during Tet. Domestic airlines have provided approximately 5.5 million tickets, a 4% increase compared to the previous year.
Some localities have partnered with airlines and travel businesses to welcome visitors with exciting activities, creating a joyful atmosphere on the first day of the new year. Various creative tourism products, featuring technologies such as light technology, 3D technology, and real scenery, have attracted a large number of visitors. Some popular destinations include Hanoi, Tam Chuc (Ha Nam), Trang An (Ninh Binh), Sapa (Lao Cai), Quang Ninh, Da Nang, Hoi An (Quang Nam), Da Lat (Lam Dong), and Ho Chi Minh City.

Many large travel agencies have developed new tour programs and attractive promotions to highlight regional advantages and diversify services, aiming to increase revenue during Tet.
Some localities with international seaports have organized welcoming activities for visitors during Tet. Quang Ninh welcomed the Zhao Shang Yi Dun ship with 600 Chinese guests, while Da Nang welcomed Zhao Shang Yi Dun and Dream Cruise ships with about 3,400 guests. Ho Chi Minh City welcomed Europa, Seabourn Encore, and Celebrity Cruises with thousands of visitors from various countries. These positive signs in cruise tourism indicate a promising year of recovery for the international tourist flow, including visitors from the traditional Chinese market.
Airlines have improved their service quality and added more flights to meet the needs of tourists and residents during Tet. Domestic airlines are estimated to have provided about 5.5 million tickets for domestic flights, a 4% increase compared to the previous year and a 69% increase compared to normal days.
