On October 7, nearly 70 contestants of

Miss Grand International

2023 from different countries dressed in Vietnamese traditional four-piece costumes and paid a visit to Thay Pagoda – one of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam.

This visit not only allowed beauty pageant contestants to admire the ancient traditional architecture of North Vietnam, but also provided an opportunity for them to interact more with Vietnamese audiences.

Most international contestants showed a special love for four-piece outfits. They expressed feeling extremely comfortable in the flowing design and soft material of the traditional Vietnamese attire.

After visiting Thay Pagoda, the contestants visited the Quintessence of Tonkin and had the opportunity to try typical Northern dishes. Despite differences in taste, they all enjoyed Vietnamese cuisine. They also participated in the Cheraw dance with local people.

Many contestants expressed their excitement and overwhelming feeling towards the shimmering, magical space of the Northern landscape vividly recreated in the Quintessence of Tonkin show. They were also surprised to learn that 200 actors participated in this play, most of whom were local people living in the area.

show, appearing on stage on rickshaws – a popular means of transportation for Northern people in the past.

This activity was proposed and planned by the host organization with the desire to promote Vietnamese culture to international friends.

Mr. Nawat, President of the Miss Grand International contest, also shared his impression of the show. “I think it’s very difficult to choreograph actors. I heard there were more than 200 artists performing in the show, and they did it nicely. If you plan to visit Hanoi, at least come and enjoy the show once in your life. Once again, it is a wonderful show,” said Mr. Nawat.

Miss Grand International 2023 contestants will also participate in activities to promote Vietnamese culture and tourism in Da Nang, Hue, Hoi An, and Ho Chi Minh City.
