Starting from Saturday, 14 districts in Hanoi will deploy PCR testing, including Hoan Kiem, Ba Dinh, Dong Da, Hai Ba Trung, Tay Ho, Cau Giay, Ha Dong, Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Hoang Mai, Long Bien, Thanh Xuan, Phuc Tho and Hoai Duc.
On the basis of the list of returnees who have made medical declarations, local health centres will send notices to cases that need to be sampled for sequential COVID-19 testing to ensure epidemic prevention.
On Saturday morning, Ba Dinh district took samples for PCR testing from about 80 cases in four wards: Phuc Xa, Thanh Cong, Cong Vi and Kim Ma.
At Nguyen Trai Secondary School in Ba Dinh District, from the early morning, medical staff and staff were present to prepare the tools and equipment needed to conduct PCR sampling for people returning from Da Nang.
Medical staff guided residents on how to perform social distancing and conducted body temperature checks on them.
All residents must make a medical report on their current health status before testing.

The samples will then be sent to testing agencies, including the Centre for Disease Control of Hanoi, the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, Bach Mai Hospital, the National Hospital of Paediatrics, the Hanoi Medical University Hospital, among others under the regulations.
It is expected that by August 13, Hanoi will have taken samples from about 60,000-65,000 people.
