Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived at Noi Bai International Airport on June 19, beginning a state visit to Vietnam from June 19-20. He was invited by General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nguyen Phu Trong.

On June 20, Vietnamese President To Lam hosted a grand welcome ceremony for President Putin at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi. The ceremony included a 21-cannon salute, reflecting the high regard for the visiting head of state.

President Putin’s state visit to Vietnam coincides with a significant milestone—the 30th anniversary of the Treaty on the Principles of Friendly Relations between our two nations. This visit also precedes another important event: the 75th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties in 2025.

The Vietnamese Government chief and President Putin engage in meaningful discussions during their meeting.

Before their official talks, the two leaders took a walk down memory lane, viewing a photo exhibition that captured the enduring friendship between Vietnam and Russia.

The talks between the Vietnamese and Russian leaders were accompanied by a delightful spread of desserts, a sweet touch to the important discussions.
